How this module works

This module rewrites links for layer navigation in catalog and catalogsearch to improve the legibility of the url. At the same time it helps to optimize these urls for search engines. You can enable/disable in backend and specify a string for the route identifier and page parameter. It supports filterable attributes, categories and price filter.

Price filter and category urls can be translated by a locale .csv.

Instead of electronics.html?color=23&price=100-200 you will get electronics/color/black/price/from-100-to-200.html

FilterRewrites is simple, lightweight. It concentrates on one problem to allow easy integration in your system.

It adds a new router object and matches a link segment. For the correct link creation we rewrite:

• Catalog/Block/Layer/State.php


• Catalog/Block/Product/List/Toolbar.php


• Page/Html/Pager.php


• Catalog/Model/Layer/Filter/Item.php

How to configure this module

After the installtion with magento connect, return to the admin panel and open the system configuration. Choose "Catalog" from the menu and open the tab "Search Engine Optimizations". At the end you find the filter rewrite options
